📍 Searching Dunn County's Rural & Wooded Terrain

Dunn County includes a mix of agricultural land, wooded hills, river and creek corridors, wetlands, fields, and large rural properties. Missing pets and deer can move into areas that are difficult and time-consuming to search thoroughly from the ground.

A thermal drone allows Drone-Search to systematically examine large areas from the air while adjusting altitude, position, and viewing angle as the terrain changes. Thermal imaging cannot see through solid vegetation, but exposed portions of an animal's heat signature may be detectable through openings in trees, brush, and other cover.

🚁 Deer Recovery & Lost Pet Searches Throughout Dunn County

Dunn County's combination of farmland, wooded hills, creek bottoms, brush, and large rural properties can make deer recovery challenging after the blood trail ends. Drone-Search uses aerial thermal imaging and high-resolution cameras to systematically search likely travel routes, bedding areas, field edges, wooded cover, and other terrain from the air.

When a deer is located, thermal and visual imagery can help determine whether the animal is deceased or still alive. For deceased deer, Drone-Search can provide precise GPS information to help guide the hunter to the recovery location. If a deer is located alive, we discontinue the recovery search and do not disclose its location, but we can provide photo or video evidence and discuss what we can observe about its condition.

🦌Proven Deer-Locating Experience

During the 2025 deer season, Drone-Search located deer in 94% of the deer searches we conducted. This is a location rate, not a recovery rate, because some deer are located alive.

Successful deer locations can happen quickly, but difficult searches may require two hours or more of searching on-site. Drone-Search has also detected thermal signatures more than 48 hours after death and has located deer as long as five days later. Every search is different, and results depend on terrain, vegetation, weather, the accuracy of the available information, and other conditions.
